Creating an appointment for a child or dependant

Learn how to create appointments for dependents. They will be attached to the account of the main customer, but can be invoiced separately.

Creating an appointment for a child or dependant

There is more than one way to create an appointment for a dependent; it depends on how you would like to manage their information and invoicing.

Store information on the parent/guardian

An appointment can be created with the parent/guardian as a client, with the dependent saved on the appointment.

  1. Create an appointment as normal and after choosing the main contact (eg. the parent), click the "+ add a dependent" button.
  2. Type the name of the dependent (eg. the child).

What happens:

  • The appointment is created with the name of the dependent visible on the calendar.
  • The appointment is attached to the parent.

This means:

  • You will be able to find these appointments under the parents' details from the client's page.
  • You will be able to generate invoices for the dependent and the parent separately by simply choosing the appropriate appointments when creating the invoice.
  • Notifications will be sent to the parents' contact details.
  • If medical aid information is added to the parent's profile, it will be pulled through to the invoice for the dependent.

An appointment can be created with the dependent loaded as a client:

  1. Add the dependent as a client, use the parent/guardian's phone number and email address if required.
  2. Create an appointment as normal.

What happens:

  • The appointment is created under the dependent's profile

This means:

  • You will be able to find these appointments under the dependent's details from the client's page.
  • You will be able to generate invoices for the dependent.
  • Notifications will be sent to the dependent's contact details (in this case, the parent or guardian).
  • If medical aid information is added to the dependent's profile, it will be pulled through to the invoice for the dependent.
